Daily Advent Activity for the Christmas Season

Daily Advent Activity for the Christmas Season

Last year, I attempted to create a personalized Advent Calendar for my kiddos. I didn't stick with it and got too caught up in the hustle and bustle of the Season, which was the exact reason I wanted to do an Advent Calendar.

My kids know that the focus of the Christmas Season is Christ, but it is easy to lose sight of that, as we get overwhelmed and focused on everything else.

This year, I was determined to follow through with my Advent Calendar plans, so I began earlier in November to ensure that I was ready to go by December 1.

There are many ways that you could present this visually. I chose to wrap each day's gift or activity and place them under my oldest's tree (mainly because I found a wrapping paper I was OBSESSED with that went with her tree). Each gift is numbered and there is a corresponding envelope with that day's date. Inside each envelope is a Bible verse for the day and a short message encompassing the verse, the gift or activity for the day and Jesus.

I had so much fun creating this activity for my kids. Gift giving is one of my absolute favorite things and it was so much fun finding not only the gifts for them, but also the message bringing them back to the REAL reason for our favorite Holiday: Christ.

I know that it can be hard for us as Mommas to try and do it ALL during the Holidays, so I would love to share our Advent Activity with you. I chose to do December 1-24, but you may choose to shorten it, pick your favorites and do the 12 Days of Christmas.

The gifts are very simple and affordable. While one night may be a little bit more substantial, like PJ's, another night may be one little box of candy. Reading the verse and the message and then unwrapping something unexpected is the fun!

Below you will find both a list of the items and activities featured each day.

I sourced most of my items locally, but I have put together options through Amazon that you can find here in my Advent Activity List!

The deeper, more meaningful part of the Advent activity is the Daily Bible Verses and Messages. Because I did 24 days, there are 8 pages of Daily sheets, so I put it in PDF form to make it easier to download. Click through the image below to Download.

I cannot explain how excited I am to experience this with my kids and my husband this year. This Advent Activity gives me so many opportunities to show them how much I love them, how much Jesus loves them and to spend time together this Holiday Season.

I hope that by sharing this important project with you, it will enrich your Christmas as well.
